Moving Water

Here are some stills from a series of three art participation events entitled Moving Water, inspired by our sensory, embodied relationship to water. These took place between 19th – 21st June 2014, at the October Gallery, London.

Moving Water offered a moving, embodied sensory experience of our biological, psychological, cultural understanding of water through handling sculptural vessels that contain water. Made from sensuous materials such as glass, rawhide, metal and clay, the vessels and the water they contained were exchanged among audience members in an individual and collective exploration revealing how our bodies themselves are vessels for water.

The creators of this project are Rosalyn Driscoll, Tereza Stehlikova and Anais Tondeur (Sensory Sites). Collaborators include Shelley James, Josh Ward, Kathy Crick, Lucia Brighenti, Kay Syrad, Claire Petitmengin, and CenSes, a network of neuroscientists, psychologists and philosophers based at University of London who are investigating sensory experience: www.thesenses.ac.uk. This project was supported by Encounter Fine Arts.
